Why This Matters

If unauthenticated or external users can bypass the meeting lobby, they gain immediate access to your organization’s meetings without waiting for host approval. This exposes sensitive discussions to unauthorized participants and increases the risk of data leaks, disruptive intrusions, or social engineering attacks. Restricting lobby bypass to only people inside your organization ensures that all external attendees are vetted before they can join.

This check verifies that Microsoft Teams meetings are configured so only users within your organization can bypass the lobby and join directly. It appears in the Aether365 dashboard under microsoft-365 checks, flagged as medium severity when the policy allows external or unauthenticated users to skip the lobby.
