Scheduled Scans

Aether365 can run scans automatically on a recurring schedule. Once configured, scans run without any manual intervention and you receive an email report when each one completes.
Schedule Frequencies
Available schedule frequencies include Monthly, Weekly, Daily, and Custom (cron expression). The default schedule is set automatically when you connect a tenant. You can change it in Settings > Scan Schedule. Custom cron expressions allow you to run scans at any time.
Managing Schedules
To view or change your scan schedule:
- Go to Settings in the dashboard.
- Select the tenant you want to configure.
- Under Scan Schedule, choose your preferred frequency.
- Click Save.
Changes take effect for the next scheduled run.
Scan Types in Schedules
You can configure which scan types run on each schedule:
- Compliance only
- Exposure only
- Both compliance and exposure (runs as separate scans in parallel)
Running both scan types is recommended for the most complete view of your security posture.
Email Notifications
After each scheduled scan completes, Aether365 sends an email to your registered address. The email includes:
- Tenant name and scan date
- Overall security score
- Pass / fail / skip summary
- Number of new failures since the previous scan (delta)
- A link to the full results in the dashboard
To change the notification email address, go to Settings > Notifications.
Timezones
All scheduled scans run in UTC. When configuring a custom cron expression, specify the time in UTC.
The email report shows the scan start and completion time in UTC. The dashboard displays times in your browser's local timezone.
Manual Scans
Scheduled scans do not prevent you from running manual scans at any time. Manual scans are independent - they do not reset or affect the schedule.
Running a manual scan does not count against your scheduled scan quota.
