Setting Up Email Reports

Aether365 sends an email notification when a scan completes or fails. You can configure which events trigger an email.

Default behavior

By default, Aether365 sends a scan completion email to the account owner's email address (the email associated with your Microsoft sign-in). No setup is required to receive this.

Configuring email notifications

To change notification settings:

  1. Navigate to Notifications in the sidebar (under the Settings section)
  2. Under Email notifications, configure the toggles:
    • On scan complete - send email when any scan finishes successfully
    • On scan failure - send email when a scan fails

Changes save immediately.

What the scan email contains

The scan completion email includes:

  • Scan type (Compliance or Exposure)
  • Overall security score
  • Pass, fail, and skip counts
  • A breakdown by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low failures)
  • A direct link to the full scan results in the dashboard

The email does not include full remediation guidance - that is available in the dashboard.

Adding additional recipients

To send scan emails to additional people:

  1. Navigate to Team in the sidebar (under the Settings section)
  2. Click Invite member and enter the email address
  3. Once they accept, each team member can manage their own notification preferences

Sending to a ticketing system

Many ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.) have email-to-ticket inboxes. You can invite the inbox address as a team member to create tickets automatically on each scan.

Unsubscribing

To stop receiving scan emails:

  1. Navigate to Notifications in the sidebar
  2. Toggle off On scan complete and On scan failure

You can also unsubscribe from any scan email using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
